Top Tips to get the Autumn Look

We’re absolutely in love with our Autumn Chic Collection! Its warm hues, intricate detailing and rich textures give us the Autumn look and something to look forward to now that the colder, darker autumn and winter months are setting in.

Should you want to replicate the Autumn look yourself here are some top tips to help you pull it all together. It’s a look that’s easily adaptable for most rooms whether that’s a home office, drawing room, bedroom or dining room.

Picking a Colour Palette

This season’s collection is all about meditative silvers, warming taupes and deep greys. If you don’t have period features in your room to break up deeper colours, use 2 similar shades to create a greater sense of contrast in light. As a lot of the textures are rather luxurious and detailed we would recommend only using patterned wallpaper sparingly. We use paint & wallpaper from Little Greene to decorate our stores.

Paint (top to bottom) – French Grey Pale 161, French Grey 113, Silt 40, Dark Lead 118, Mid Lead 114 and Gauze Dark 166.

Choosing Fabrics & Textiles

Autumn Chic has a rich collective of textures and fabrics to create a luxurious yet cosy feel… Look no further than our cushions for inspiration… Velvets, stitched detailing, organza pom poms and damask prints. Your sofa should be equally luxurious but only in choice of material. Anything other than a solid colour could cause the look to be overpowering.

The Finer Details

Bi-coloured accessories are key for this look, whether that be a white & grey shabby chic finish or a faux snakeskin surface. Exaggerated crests and embossed Parisian scrolling are very much in this season and feature heavily in our new collection. Autumn chic is about mixing all of these elements using a shared colour pallet to bring the look together.

Floral Finishing Touches

To complete the look we’ve taken inspiration from the nature and pulled in large white & gold floral artwork as well as orchid stems. Our new collection of Affordable Art also features majestic silver birches and abstract coastal scenes canvases. These would work equally well should you prefer a cooler, Hamptons colour pallet.
